Vintage 1924 Enzo Ferrari Circuito del Polesine Winner Alfa Romeo Advertisement.
This is an incredibly rare and VERY early Enzo Ferrari item!
In 1919 a young Enzo Ferrari was hired by CMN as a test driver. After some moderate success racing the CMN cars (which were largely coverted army trucks from WW1), he followed Ugo Sivocci to Alfa Romeo where he continued his racing career and eventually became the manager for the Alfa Romeo Corse racing department while also setting up his own Scuderia Ferrari
After WW2 he set up the Ferrari car company and the rest is history...
Enzo was not too succesfull as a racing driver, which lead him to his caraar switch towards management but he did manage to win a couple of races, one of the most famous being the Circuito del Polesine at Robigo on June 1, 1924 which he managed to win ahead of his later Scuderia Ferrari star driver Tazio Nuvolari on Chiribiri Voiturette.
Enzo drove an Alfa Romeo RLTF and finished the 299.09 km race in 2 hours and 45 minutes.
On the same day, Giuseppe Campari won the Montreux - Glion - Caux hillclimb in Switzerland with his Alfa Romeo RL.
Alfa Romeo, keen to capatalize on their racing successes, placed this advertisement, with as heading "Ogni corsa una vittoria!" (Every race a victory!) in the motoring press to bring these victories to the attention of the car buying public.
This advertisement originates from a June 1924 Italian car magazine and is in more than excellent condition.
