Jackie Ickx Racing Memorabilia1945 -
Vintage Original poster for the Mexican Grand Prix held on October 19, 1969.
A VERY rare poster indeed!
It is in excellent condition for its age.
The artwork shows an artist's impression of what looks to be a McLaren ahead of a Lotus F1 car against a backdrop of the Mexican national colors, Green, white and red.
The bottom edges show a nice advertisement for Aeronaves de Mexico, Mexico's national airline, that encourages you to travel with them on their Super DC-8's and DC-9's.
The race was won by Denny Hulme on McLaren, ahead of Jackie Ickx on Brabham and Jack Brabham on... Brabham!
The poster measures some 23 x 17 inches or 59 x 44.5 cm.

Vintage Original 1975 24 Hours of Le Mans Poster.
June 14 & 15, 1975.
77 x 60 cm31 x 23.5 inches
Near MINT condition.
A VERY scarce poster due to its unusual size and in this condition.
The 1975 poster was the start of a new era in Le Mans posters which ran from 1975 to 1980 and is symbolized by "Early Sponsorship and Advertising" where actual advertising appeared on the posters.
The advertising (in this case French cigarette brand Gitanes) stands out in the symbol of safety represented by the helmet in which the terraces in front of the main grandstands are reflected. Although striking from a marketing point of view, the poster lacks an essential piece of information... the year!
The poster is based on a touched-up color photo by Schwager while the production was in hands of Rousseau.
The race was won by Jackie Ickx and Derek Bell in their Nr 11 Gulf Mirage Gr. 8 with a total of 336 laps to their name.

The 1976 poster was part of a new era in Le Mans posters which ran from 1975 to 1980 and is symbolized by "Early Sponsorship and Advertising" where actual advertising appeared on the posters.
The photo shows the night, a very well-known aspect of the race of course, but the extremely long exposure time emphasizes the magic of sun-dawn and the speed of the cars on the track.
The poster is based on an anonymous, touched-up, color photo which was taken during the 1975 running.
The race was won by Jacky Ickx and Gijs van Lennep in their # 20 Porsche 936 with a total of 349 laps to their name.

Vintage Original 1981 24 Hours of Le Mans Poster.
June 13 & 14, 1981
40 x 53 cm15.5 x 21 inches
Near mint condition for its age.
The 1981 Le Mans poster is part of the "The star car used for sponsorship" era in Le Mans posters which lasted from 1981 to 1997.
On the 1981 poster, the track has virtually been eliminated leaving space for a car that had not won the race the previous year, the WM P79/80 Peugeot of Ecurie WM Esso, driven by Guy Frequelin and Roger Dorchy who finished 4th overall in 1980.
This poster is an outspoken example of a "sponsored Le Mans poster".
The newspaper Le Parisien had replaced TF1 as partner in de media coverage of the race, hence their logo on the poster.
The race was won by Jacky Ickx & Derek Bell in their Nr 11 Porsche 936/81 with a total of 354 laps to their name.
For the full results of this race, please see 24 Heures du Mans results 1981.
